According to a report filed by graphic.com.gh, the 42-year-old man identified as Papa Gyapi used a hammer in committing the ghastly act after the said girlfriend allegedly denied him sex. The deceased is identified as only Rita, 27. Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Olivia Ewurabena Adiku, confirmed the incident. The police, she said, rushed to the scene upon a tipoff from an eye witness. The suspect's room was locked when they got to the scene. But he could be seen through the window wielding a hammer and threatening harm to anyone who dared break into the room. Read more: 

“The police were left with no option than to force the door open, overpower Papa Gyabi, and disarm and effect his arrest,” DSP Adiku said. The deceased body was found lying in a pool of blood with the head smashed upon entering the room, she said. The Regional Crime Scene Management Team has since taken over the crime scene and the body deposited at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Referral Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy. The suspect is also in the custody of the Shama Police to assist in the police investigation. Read more:
