According to a post put up on the Twitter handle of Ghana Stories, @Ghanaspotlight, Douglas had applied three times in total, once at UG and twice at KNUST. The relentless applicant decided not to take no for an answer as he had 8As in his West African Senior School Certificate Examinations (WASSCE) in the year 2012. Read more:
Meet Dr Douglas Antwi, a UDS medical graduate who got rejected by both University of Ghana and KNUST even though he had all As in the 2012 WASSCE. KNUST rejected him 2 times but Dr. Antwi did not give up and went ahead to apply to UDS.

Instead of giving up, Douglas Antwi reapplied the fourth time but on this occasion, at the University for Development Studies (UDS). He was gladly admitted into the medical school there and he thereafter graduated as a certified Medical Doctor which has always been his dream for a long time. It is not known on what basis KNUST and UG did not accept Douglas despite his brilliant grades but his story teaches the power in never giving up on one's dreams. Read more:
