Meanwhile, the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) of Ghana has announced that Ghana could start importing unpackaged COVID-19 vaccines in bulk. That according to the FDA, will give local companies the job to fill the vaccines into empty vials. The Chief Executive Officer at FDA, Delese Mimi Darko, said this is likely to happen within the next six months. According to her, some local companies are already in the process of getting the needed documentation and clearance to engage in the process.

This according to him, is part of the government's plan to make healthcare delivery easily accessible. Speaking at the launch of the digital platform of the Health Facilities Regulatory Agency, he said the medical records and history of patients will be gathered under a single digital database which can be accessed by any hospital patients visit.

Patients will have only one folder no matter where they are,” he said. The New Patriotic Party government has continually expressed its resolve to automate all transactions to reduce human interaction. The Ministry of Health had already launched a national E-Health project and bio-Surveillance system to link public hospitals and clinics to a common database. The e-health system is expected to end the movement of folders across departments in various health institutions. Away from health, The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has expelled its former Central regional chairman, Bernard Allotey Jacobs. Allotey Jacobs has been sacked upon recommendations by the party's Disciplinary Committee following a case of misconduct and anti-party behaviour brought against him. In a statement on Tuesday, March 23, 2021, General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia explained that the party's Disciplinary Committee found Allotey Jacobs guilty of the above-mentioned offences and recommended his immediate expulsion.

Addressing the media, the minister argued that the report is just a guiding note and not a prediction. “I have not seen the EIU predicts victory for NDC for 2024”, he stated. The Economic Intelligence Unit (EIU) – a US based research institute – is predicting that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) will be victorious in the 2024 general elections. Mr. Mahama is reportedly considering whether to run again, but we expect the NDC to seek to revitalize its prospects with a fresh candidate.” In other news Almost half a million Ghanaians (468,581) have so far been vaccinated against the Novel Coronavirus. Director General for the Ghana Health Service says the Greater Accra Region was the highest region to have administered the jabs as at March, 21. Speaking to the press, Dr. Kuma-Aboagye further explained 195,449 persons in the Ashanti Region have also received their jabs. Meanwhile, the GHS has intensified surveillance on the discharge of vaccines following cases of thievery and sale of the vaccine dose. Some health professionals have so far been arrested for stealing and selling the said vaccines.

Titling their research as “Misconduct affecting Global Fund grants”, the report lamented the development calling for swift investigation and possible diversion of funds from the said company. “Multiple NAP+ executives demanded that program members engage in sexual conduct or provide financial kickbacks in order to access events and benefits supported by grant funds, which constituted corrupt and coercive practices,” the report said.
