"This support, if it keeps coming likes this, chale, we go fi take the Grammy some. Whoever take the Grammy. Whoever take am be human being," said Kuami Eugene to Giovani Caleb on TV3.

"As we dey here, if we keep supporting like this, and I love the way Ghanaians are supporting. Make we do more. And we can go."

n May 4, 2021, ghanasoinn.com reported that Eugene had taken a swipe at Ghanaians who criticise the lyrical content of his song Open Gate. The Lynx Entertainment artiste has been at the mercy of trolls for the line 'sebe wele kontomire' in the hit song. He, however, thinks people who have unkind words to say to him because of that are shallow and are criticising him just for the sake of it. "It is really, really a bit too shallow if you say 'wele sebe kontomire' is a bad word or it is not Grammy worthy. I don't understand because I am making numbers out there which means we are really listening to it," said Eugene during an interview on Hitz FM.

"We are enjoying it. We are playing it at parties, every wedding, every occasion."
