We Did Unprecedented Borrowing To Save The Country Economy - Infor Minister, Kojo Nkrumah

The Minister of Information, Hon Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has stated that the government of Ghana under the leadership of Nana Akufo Addo had to make extra borrowing to keep the country's economy on track because of the unfortunate attack of the covid 19 pandemics in the country.

He further pleads to the media to help advocate to Ghanaians about the crises the covid 19 attacks have brought to the country and therefore, the need for Ghanaians to work with the government to find more solutions.

"We have to break the bank, borrowed some money that we have never borrowed before, exceed some of the fine statistical limits that we have put in place. We have to sacrifice all that so that we can pump some resources into ensuring that today you and I are still alive and we are not like India", he explained to the media in Tamale.

"Today you see deficits to be 11%, you see debt GDP ratio over 70%, you see revenues are falling, you see expenditure is challenged. That is to be expected if we are going to sacrifice that to protect lives", He further stressed.

The Information Minister further, admonished Ghanaians to remain calm and stay in input as they can trust the government efforts to stabilize the country's economy.
